Onyx Gift Cards is a Grenadian company designed to introduce, market and manage gift cards systems in Grenada for retailers and corporations. We are enthusiastic about the effect and influence we will have on the local market. We intend to expand our systems regionally with a range of product offerings and services.
Gift cards are the preferred way of giving and receiving gifts. They carry a monetary value that can be redeemed for gifts at your favorite store.
Onyx GiftCards are “Open Gift Cards” which means that they can be redeemed at multiple merchant locations. They are standard credit card size, can fit into the average wallet and made of PVC plastic. Onyx GiftCards are Barcoded for security and safety for the consumer and bear a disclaimer at the back.
Onyx Giftcards can be bought with a branded Card backer which is black in colour and is designed to fit the card. There is an area to write a brief message to the recipient as well.
A CVV test environment is a sandbox operated by a payment processor. It accepts published test card numbers and published test CVC values. No bank is contacted. No money moves. No real account data is involved.
Stripe, Adyen, Braintree, and PayPal each publish their own test cards and test CVC codes. The values are public. They work only against that processor's test endpoints.
Test CVC values fail on live authorization endpoints. The card numbers are flagged in issuer and processor systems. A test value entered at a live checkout returns an error code, not an approval.
Card testing means submitting many card numbers with guessed CVC values to find open accounts. Issuers log it as a BIN attack. Visa and Mastercard publish rules that let acquirers block merchants with high authorization-to-settlement ratios.
Using a card number you do not own, at a live endpoint or a test endpoint, is unauthorized access and card fraud under 18 U.S.C. 1029 in the US and similar statutes elsewhere. Test environments exist for developers who integrate a checkout. They are not a channel to validate card data that belongs to other people.
Each processor keeps a test card page in its developer docs. Stripe lists card numbers and expected CVC outcomes. Adyen lists test cards per card scheme. Braintree lists test values per currency. These pages are the source of record. Values change when a processor retires a test card, so read the current page before a test run.
