What is ONYX GiftCards?

Onyx Gift Cards is a Grenadian company designed to introduce, market and manage gift cards systems in Grenada for retailers and corporations. We are enthusiastic about the effect and influence we will have on the local market. We intend to expand our systems regionally with a range of product offerings and services.

What is a Gift Card?

Gift cards are the preferred way of giving and receiving gifts. They carry a monetary value that can be redeemed for gifts at your favorite store.
Onyx GiftCards are “Open Gift Cards” which means that they can be redeemed at multiple merchant locations. They are standard credit card size, can fit into the average wallet and made of PVC plastic. Onyx GiftCards are Barcoded for security and safety for the consumer and bear a disclaimer at the back.
Onyx Giftcards can be bought with a branded Card backer which is black in colour and is designed to fit the card. There is an area to write a brief message to the recipient as well.

How it Works?

  • Buy an Onyx Gift Card at these local stores
  • Give your gift card to friends, family, co-workers, etc.
  • The recipient can shop at our select merchants nationwide
  • Your friends, family, co-workers, etc. will present their gift card at checkout to pay for your item(s)
  • They will walk away happy with the best gift ever...the gift of Choice

Short answer

Testimonials on a site that sells CVV data are not evidence of anything. The people who post them are anonymous. The site operator controls the page and can write, edit, or delete every review. No independent party checks the claims. In several cases the sites themselves were run by police or were scams that collected payment and shipped nothing.

What a CVV site sells

CVV stands for card verification value, the three or four digit code printed on a payment card. A CVV site sells that code together with card numbers, names, and expiry dates taken from other people. The seller does not own the card. The buyer does not own the card. Both sides are dealing in stolen account access.

Why the reviews are unreliable

Legal status in the United States

18 U.S.C. 1029 covers fraud and related activity with access devices. Selling, transferring, or possessing stolen card data with intent to defraud is a federal offense. Penalties include prison terms and fines. A conviction follows the person, not the website.

Law enforcement activity

Genesis Market, a large marketplace for stolen credentials and card data, was seized in April 2023 in a coordinated action across 17 countries. The FBI, Europol, and national police agencies ran the operation. Investigators collected buyer records. Former users of such sites have been charged later, sometimes years after the purchases.

The FBI also runs Operation Boiling Point, which targets organized theft groups that traffic in stolen account data.

What a testimonial cannot tell you

A review cannot tell you if a card is live. It cannot tell you if the seller will deliver. It cannot tell you if the site is a police collection point. It cannot protect you from a charge under 18 U.S.C. 1029. Any page that shows a wall of positive reviews is a sales page. The reviews are part of the product.

Bottom line

Testimonials are marketing copy on an illegal storefront. There is no verification layer, no consumer protection, and no recourse if the seller takes the money. The activity is a federal crime in the US, and the transaction records exist on servers that investigators have seized before.
