What is ONYX GiftCards?

Onyx Gift Cards is a Grenadian company designed to introduce, market and manage gift cards systems in Grenada for retailers and corporations. We are enthusiastic about the effect and influence we will have on the local market. We intend to expand our systems regionally with a range of product offerings and services.

What is a Gift Card?

Gift cards are the preferred way of giving and receiving gifts. They carry a monetary value that can be redeemed for gifts at your favorite store.
Onyx GiftCards are “Open Gift Cards” which means that they can be redeemed at multiple merchant locations. They are standard credit card size, can fit into the average wallet and made of PVC plastic. Onyx GiftCards are Barcoded for security and safety for the consumer and bear a disclaimer at the back.
Onyx Giftcards can be bought with a branded Card backer which is black in colour and is designed to fit the card. There is an area to write a brief message to the recipient as well.

How it Works?

  • Buy an Onyx Gift Card at these local stores
  • Give your gift card to friends, family, co-workers, etc.
  • The recipient can shop at our select merchants nationwide
  • Your friends, family, co-workers, etc. will present their gift card at checkout to pay for your item(s)
  • They will walk away happy with the best gift ever...the gift of Choice

A credit card BIN test reads the first six to eight digits of a card number and returns the details behind them: the issuing bank, the card brand, the card type, and the country of issue. It gives merchants, developers, and payment teams a quick way to confirm that a card looks consistent before an authorization request is ever sent. The result is a fast, low-cost check that helps cut avoidable declines and surfaces high-risk card categories early.

Key Features

Specifications and Data Sources

Lookup data is built on the ISO/IEC 7812 issuer identification standard and refreshed on a regular schedule so newly issued ranges are covered. The service accepts plain digit strings, requires only the leading six to eight digits, and returns a structured record in milliseconds. Output fields include brand, subtype, issuer, country, currency, and a prepaid indicator. The API speaks standard REST over HTTPS and responds in JSON, while the dashboard supports CSV import and export for batch work. Because only the BIN portion is submitted, no full primary account number is needed to run a check.

Shipping and Returns

This is a digital product, so there is nothing to ship and no waiting on a courier. Account credentials and API keys are delivered to your email address as soon as checkout completes, and access is active immediately. If the service does not work as described, contact support within the stated window for a full refund; no physical return is required.

What is a credit card BIN test used for?

It is used to identify the bank, brand, and country behind a card number, and to check whether a card is prepaid or otherwise unusual before a transaction is processed. Fraud and payment teams rely on it for routing, risk scoring, and decline analysis.

Does a BIN test need the full card number?

No. Only the first six to eight digits are required, which is why a BIN check can be run without handling or storing a complete account number.

Is a BIN check the same as card validation?

Not exactly. A BIN check describes the card's issuer and type, while validation confirms whether the account itself is open and authorized for a charge. The two are usually used together.
